A dramatic change in the work schedule of Mario's owner led to the surrenderer's painful decision to give him up. Owner's work hours left Mario alone for up to 15 hours a day. He is now in a foster home with a remote-working mom who is much more available. Initially, we weren't sure how he would do with another dog since he hadn't lived with a dog in years. The successful introduction to his foster's mom's dog, however, proved that Mario can be with other dogs. As for his sociability with people and children, he does well with both. In the case of children, it is Citizen Canine Rescue's policy to not place senior dogs in homes with children under 7. He has undergone all his medical vetting and came through with very high marks! He is ready to go to a new home where his owners won't be tied up for a huge amount of work hours everyday.
