Yes, we know that Scotty is 17 and may possibly not have a lot of time on his clock left. Yet, he is somehow not ready to go. And, to boot, he doesn't even qualify for hospice because he is still going relatively strong. Even a recent diagnosis of the very early stages of kidney disease does not interfere with his functioning. He is early enough in his diagnosis that a mere change to his diet is all that the vet prescribed for Scotty. We're all about truth at our rescue. So for full disclosure, we will tell you that though he was represented to us as a housebroken dog, he has begun to mark on the beds of his doggie mate who has been nothing but an unwelcoming pisser since Scotty got there. Maybe that will stop? Hopefully, the behavior is unique to that situation but we can't offer guarantees. Please don't be scared off. Scotty's health does not put him at death's door. He's in our rescue, even at his age, because he also deserves a loving landing in his golden years. Wouldn't you want that--someone to attend to your every need and thank you with snuggles, heart, and a doggy head resting on your lap?
