Wendy was pulled off the chopping block, having been scheduled for euthanasia 9-26-24. Her senior owner died and his widow is unable to manage Wendy on her own. Relatives thought she was too "old" to be adoptable and the fact that there was nowhere to place her didn't help. Going to cut straight to the chase: Wendy has a heart murmur that is at the highest level in terms of severity. She has never displayed any symptoms of heart disease. It is possible that it will be a long time before Wendy has any kind of symptoms. We rescued such a dog two years ago, who was also at the highest grade level of heart murmur. Little Duke lives on and was even adopted by his hospice foster. That may very well be Wendy. The only thing is that we cannot make that promise. Because Wendy is in such good health otherwise, however, we deemed her adoptable. There is no reason she can't be the pet of a loving family. Clearly, it would have to be a special person/family, who would not be put off by her health prognosis.
Wendy is a sweet, pretty girl. Wendy is playful with toys and with other dogs. She doesn't do cats, though. She is loving and obedient. She knows "come, sit, and stay." She is also housebroken and lets you know when it's time to go out. She doesn't have any behavioral issues. She's a pretty no-nonsense gal.
