Barney is a sweet, dozen-year-old Llasa Apso-Shih Tzu mix. He shared the same unfortunate circumstances as his sister, Ellie. After a couple of weeks with us, including two stops he and his sister made en route to their foster, Barney has shown himself to be very adaptable. This includes taking just a pair of days to adjust to new doggy siblings. Then, just like that, they are part of his pack. He has also blossomed, socially. Where initially he was aloof and to himself, he now seeks out his foster for love and cuddles. And if she happens to not be paying attention, he'll even tug at her with his paw. She describes him as "super easy low maintenance dog...no food possession, no aggression, no barking." When excited, he gets a bit of pep in his step and practically prances. The patchy potty habits that, like his sister, he showed when he first arrived to us are improving considerably. Barney's hearing and eyesight are slipping, but he does not appear to be hindered by this. Barney's happily-ever-after home must be with a sweet, kindly person or couple who spends most of their time at home and has a lot of love to give him in his golden years.
