Daffodil is a 10-year-old, spayed, housebroken Boxer-Pitt that weighs 62 lbs. She has been an outdoor dog her whole life. Her owners kept her in a pen in the backyard and would only bring her in the house (and only the basement) on the coldest days of winter. Worried about her well-being, neighbors would take food to her. Concerned about Daffodil’s well-being, eventually, someone made an anonymous call to Animal Control, who took possession of her. From there, we got her right before a scheduled euthanasia date. Daffodil couldn't have been happier when we got her. After all, she did go from a backyard pen for 10 years to a small kennel in a shelter for several months before we finally learned about her and got her. Since then, we have gotten to know Daffodil much better. She is a very sweet dog with a very warm disposition. Although she is 10, she acts like she's in kindergarten. She is as good chilling at your feet as she is going for a run with you. And she's strong! Yes! She is a very young 10. She can be dog selective so meet and greets are essential. She doesn't do well with cats. And her foster reported that she does fine with children. This sweet, gentle girl will make a great pet!
