Frankie is a sweet little old man. He is as sweet as his snout is snowy. He is long and lean and lumbers around like a fawn in the forest. His prancing, however, has more to do with his arthritic legs. We have started him on an injection treatment for arthritis. We are hopeful that this will bring Frankie some relief. He is a very mellow guy. Frankie has adapted easily to his foster’s home despite having lived in only one other home his whole life. At his foster’s, he is enjoying the company of two large dogs. Frankie has lost his hearing and his elderly bladder requires immediate attention after he announces his need to go out because he can’t hold it very long. In a pinch, he will use a peepee pad. In the best case scenario, Frankie lands in a home with an individual or couple, maybe retired, who are home most of the time and have the patience and love to shepherd this boy through his remaining years. Given his arthritis, he would do best in a one-level home or one where gates could be placed so he does not fall down stairs. |
