Our very first rescue has arrived! Here is your chance to be our very first adopters! Her name is Rosie and she is 8 years old, but has the energy of a 6-year old. She is a 61 lb girl of a Lab-Sharpei mix, though primarily Lab, as reflected in her very warm, gentle, and friendly disposition. Rosie knows basic obedience commands. She is child- and dog-friendly. She was surrendered by her owner who could no longer keep her. Rosie is spayed and microchipped. Her chip name is Roxy, but she prefers Rosie and has many nicknames such as Rose, Roo Roo, Roonie, Rosebottom, and pretty girl. She loves walks, car rides, baths, snuggling, running around in the backyard, sunbathing, kids, booty scratches and ear scratches. Thunderstorms, however, are not her thing but she gets through them with a security vest on and being very close to her people. She rarely barks unless she’s excited. Rosie also doesn’t shed as much as a lab would and sports a very shiny, soft coat. Her nails grow fast but she loves to be groomed. Rosie does not need to be in a crate and never has been. She does well by herself but definitely prefers her people home with her. She is currently with a foster family in La Grange Park. The pics/videos here track her journey from her home in Indianapolis to her foster home in La Grange Park, Illinois. If you are interested in meeting Rosie to see if you might want to adopt her, please contact us at karina@citizencaninerescue.org or at 312-919-1014. Be forewarned! You are going to fall in love with her!
